LCI Imaging Center
Location: Heinrich Pette Institute, Leibniz Institue for Experimental Virology, Martinistr. 52, 20251 Hamburg
Description: The LCI Imaging Center at HPI focuses on the integrative imaging of pathogen infection. It is equipped with several state-of-the-art life cell microscopes and a bespoke macro-lightsheet to allow imaging of living infected cells and organoids. A major focus is integrating these technologies with electron tomography as well as block-face-scanning-EM to illuminate the spatio-temporal orchestration of host-pathogen interactions.
The technology platform is part of the department “Structural Biology of Viruses” and complements the imaging facilities at CSSB. Since 2016 it is NIKON Center of Excellence.
